Complete renormalization group improvement of QCD perturbation theory

چکیده

We suggest that at any given order of Feynman diagram calculation for a QCD observable all renormalization group (RG)-predictable terms should be resummed to all-orders. This “complete” RG-improvement (CORGI) serves to separate the perturbation series into infinite subsets of terms which when summed are renormalization scheme (RS)-invariant. Crucially all ultraviolet logarithms involving the dimensionful parameter, Q, on which the observable depends are resummed, thereby building the correct Q-dependence. There are close connections with the effective charge approach of Grunberg.

Complete Renormalization Group Improvement - Avoiding Scale Dependence in QCD Predictions

We show that dimensionful renormalization scheme parameters such as the renormalization or factorization scale can be completely eliminated from perturbative QCD predictions provided that all the ultraviolet logarithms involving the physical energy scale Q are completely resummed.

Progress in Perturbative Qcd

We briefly summarize some recent theoretical developments in perturbative QCD, emphasizing new ideas which have led to widening the domain of applicability of perturbation theory. In particular, it is now possible to calculate efficiently processes with many partons; the high order behavior of perturbation theory can be at least partly understood by going beyond leading twist accuracy; factoriz...

The Heavy Quark Self-Energy in Nonrelativistic Lattice QCD

_ The heavy quark-self-energy in nonrelativistic lattice QCD is calculated to O(cx,) in perturbation theory. An action which includes all spin-independent relativistic corrections to order v2, where v is the typical heavy quark velocity, and all @n-dependent corrections to order v4 is used. The standard Wilson action and . _ an improved multi-plaquette action are used for the gluons. Results fo...

Renormalization of infrared contributions to the QCD pressure

Thanks to dimensional reduction, the infrared contributions to the QCD pressure can be obtained from two different three-dimensional effective field theories, called the Electrostatic QCD (YangMills plus adjoint Higgs) and the Magnetostatic QCD (pure Yang-Mills theory). Lattice measurements have been carried out within these theories, but a proper interpretation of the results requires renormal...
